Recent Updates

08 July 2011-

All other pages have finally been updated.  Also online are the details for the Viper kit workshop I’ll be hosting at Sodium this August.

15 May 2011-

Most pages (events, robots, etc) have been updated. I still need to add some more on the recent rebuild of Shaka, but most else is up to date.

28 April 2011-

Yep, the blog’s dead. Never to come back. That, or it’s just off the front page and all links to it are gone. Yeah, it is the latter.

Anyway, for anyone who stumbles upon the site or for some reason checks in regularly, check out the updates in the small updates in the Events section. There are a few bits and pieces updated among the various Robots pages, but  most is still being added to at the moment.

You can look forward to (I learned my lesson. I’m still not going to let my wording promise anything) more timely updates throughout the site now that I don’t have to deal with the awkwardness of, y’know, running a blog based site, with the blog on the front page and all, and hardly using the thing. There was some decent documentation early on, but as much as I can drone on in varying detail once I get started on topics like those, it always did take a little too much motivation to keep the blog updated at all once the initial internet magic wore off. As it stood before I finally sideswiped the setup, there had only been one blog post since September last year, and most of that short post was just me apologizing for not posting more often.

I will be getting some of my extensive build reports, event reports, or other things that I deem informative/entertaining for whatever reason up somewhere on the site (ie: ones already written for and published in Servo), alongside those few initial posts. For now, I hope I can make better use of this front page in short blurbs doing no more than listing updates to the intended main content of the site.

Onwards.

Post-writing edit- I now realize that I’d actually have to make a menial change to one or two .php files to make this work and get rid of the blog related stuff on the right. My free trials on all the decent FTP programs have been out for months (the only reason this is still on WP), so until I find a free FTP program that works like it should, cave in to the man, or figure something else out, feel free to ignore the right quarter of the website the just like I’m trying to! Either way, I will get that fixed eventually.

…and barring that, I can always fall back and make these future ‘five line update blurbs’ on the blog. At the very least, it should be amusing to see how many of the dozen people who subscribed to the thing mention to me its becoming a waste of space in their RSS feed. Fixed.
